At the age of 10, my older brother (Biggestbatty.com) and my other brother (Alleycat), first showed me how to hold the kick of a song, and mix it with another of the same tempo. The first "riddim" I learned to spin on was the Santa Barbara "riddim", which the public would know as the Murder She Wrote "riddim". I wasn't very good at spinning at first and I was very frustrated, but I would keep at it for a bit before I got into Wav editing and making my own super mixes. Alleycat was the one who inspired me to do these mixes, as he was doing them himself. I sort of fell off the whole DJ/Mixing thing in highschool, due to all the other "sounds" out there that thought they were going to be the next Starting from Scratch. I would have rather played with the gyal dem , than records. Maybe a year or so after highschool, my older brother bought a set of CD DJ players, the Denon 1500, and thats when it all started for me. At first it was only dancehall and a couple of CD's that would get mixed, and over the years, I started spinnin everything from reggae to Hip Hop to RnB to Soca to Dance. In the year 2000, I was introduced to a whole new genre of music, one that I used to disrespect and say it was only for crack heads and hardcore drug users but I was very very wrong. The music was Jungle/Drum and Bass. I started raving and never looked back. My buddy (Joe D) was really into the whole jungle producing thing, so I basically just watched him produce tunes and taught myself how to use a program called Fruity Loops. For the next couple of years I took my knowledge of Reggae, Hip Hop and Soca and combined it with my new love for jungle and started producing ragga jungle tracks. I wanted to show other people that were not into jungle, that this(jungle) music wasn't that far off from our roots of Hip Hop and Reggae. So slowly I did my thing and just made as many tunes as I could, and in 2006, I was able to release my first Ragga Jungle CD, Junglist from 19 How Long that was produced and mixed by yours truly. So now we are at the present time, and I now have my own DJ setup that consist of 2 Denon S3500 CD players, a Numark DXM09 Mixer and my favorite, the SP-404 Roland sampler for that real "soundclash" feel ,when I go out and spin. I love music and everything about it, I am now venturing into Hip Hop production and eventually want to get into producing reggae riddims, but for now I am happy with being a DJ/Producer and I will continue to strive for what I want in this game and thats to be the best in it.
